This stunning 1930's home sits on the bay in Northwest Florida. The existing kitchen and laundry layout were no longer functional for these clients. They wanted to incorporate additional island seating and update the kitchen with finishes more consistent with this home's rich history and Mediterranean character. The island and cabinet towers are finished in a custom stain on rustic alder, while the perimeter cabinets are painted in a custom wam gray to coordinate with existing finishes within the home. The range hood was a custom design by designer, Allison Haligas, and finished with venetian plaster, giving both subtle movement and defining texture. The soft curves on both the range hood and the island apron are inspired by the original arched windows and doorways, creating a kitchen that feels both new and as though it has always been here.
